The goal of this project is to design, build, decorate, and race 20-foot long canoes made out of CONCRETE! Every year SDSU takes on the challenge of designing a new canoe following the latest competition guidelines. This year-long project is a team effort and is as rewarding as the effort you put into it. Our commitment to improving every year with each new design and choice has put us closer than ever before to getting to compete on the national stage. |
The National Concrete Canoe Competition
"The ASCE National Concrete Canoe Competition (NCCC) provides students with a practical application of the engineering principles they learn in the classroom, along with important team and project management skills they will need in their careers. The event challenges the students' knowledge, creativity and stamina, while showcasing the versatility and durability of concrete as a building material."
